About the project
The wind tunnel is a trainer simulating free fall, and it is one of the most unique objects we have worked on, as it is the only one of its kind in Ukraine.
The unique nature of the project often required deviations from the initial plan and project adjustments.
The tunnel generates significant vibration and noise, so we used acoustic wool “Aculite Neo” for soundproofing, and the ceiling was additionally made of “pyramid” panels EckoFom by ProAcoustic.
Challenges Addressed:
- Vibration and Noise: Acoustic insulation and additional ceiling panels.
- Air Intake: Acoustic wool needed to be secured to prevent it from being expelled.
- Condensation: Required to be diverted away from equipment.
- Access: Hidden hatches around the tunnel for equipment inspection.
Materials Used:
- Ventilation Ducts: Insulated with foam.
- Floors and Stairs: Tiled.
- Furniture: Custom-made, including a special trainer for posture.
- Reception Desk: Made of metal profile, perforated sheet, and Basic glass blocks, with white glue joints and built-in lighting.
- Ventilation: Via a recuperator in locker rooms and instructor’s room.
- Storage: Special boxes for helmets.
- Bathrooms: Atlantic 100L water heater, Grohe shower set and mixer.
- Walls: Plastered and additional soundproofing with cork.
